GOOD PRACTICES ONE-DAY SEMINAR 6/9/2012

On September 6, TEUM and the State School Advisor, Ms K. Amanatidou, organised the second one-day seminar under the theme of GOOD PRACTICES in Serres, held in the premises of the 20th primary school.

PART I
  • Ms D. Christidou (TEUM member) and E. Papavasileiou represented the 3rd primary school with the "Imagine Peace" project and showed us their participation in the World Record Attempt for the Largest Dance Routine on occasion of the London 2012 Olympic Games

  • Ms M. Paralika made a presentation of the English literature club for children, organised at the Experimental primary school of Serres

  • Ms T. Kafkia (Skopos Senior High school) enriched her classes with the use of literature, inspired by the Black Poetry Week celebrated in the USA and the UK.





  • Ms E. Mihali (19th primary school) showed us her environmental project, entitled "My school, My home place". For more details, visit the school website:

    • Ms E. Zampaki (Alistrati Senior High School) made a proposal on how to use videos in the EFL class. The stimulus was a video that she had produced on her own as part of her MA studies and she explored ways of integrating media in our lessons.







       PART II  

      • Ms S. Drampa (TEUM chair) from the 20th primary school (TEFL to YL) shared her experiences of teaching Young Learners in an interactive presentation.

      •  Ms E. Tzouri (substitute EFL teacher) revealed some of the secrets of WEB 2.0 tools by making a presentation of Storybird and discussing digital storytelling.

      •  Ms I. Tavridou (Draviskos primary school) suggested ways of organising a school library , same as she did with her pupils.

      • Ms D. Gkeniou (Pentapolis Senior High school) (TEUM Vice Chair) suggested an alternative way of approaching english language teaching in the 3rd grade of Lykeio, by presenting an interdisciplinary project in Greek and English language literature. The lesson plans and materials were organised in a WebQuest format.

      •  Ms. P. Spiliopoulou (Junior and Senior High school of A. Poroia) presented an e-twinning project she had implemented the previous school year

      The TEUM board would like to thank all the teachers who participated in this event proving that quality work is produced in the State school, both in primary and secondary education. 

      The Good Practices events have now been established and will be organised each year to promote and reward morally all hard working teachers!!
